The Lord has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations. He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. (Psalm 98:2-3)
To those who follow Messiah, it is obvious that He is the promised Redeemer and King foretold by Moses and the prophets. Unfortunately, the truth that we sometimes take for granted is not seen by all, and thus, for many the identity of the Messiah remains a mystery. The same is true for His arrival. We believe He is coming again; our Jewish friends are still looking for the Messiah to arrive; but we all agree the timing of His coming and the beginning of the Messianic era is shrouded in uncertainty. Yeshua Himself said, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” (Matthew 24:36).
So, it is well established that the exact timing of our redemption is concealed from us; as was told to the prophet Daniel, these things “are closed up and sealed till the time of the end” (Daniel 12:9). Still, the day of redemption has always been a matter of great interest for those who are looking for it. As Yeshua prepared to ascend into the heavens, the disciples asked, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” (Acts 1:6). I point this out because it is believed that as the time of redemption draws near, those who are anticipating this great day will begin to discern the signs unfolding in the earth. As it was also told to Daniel, “none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand” (Daniel 12:9).
All of this is to say that, for those who love His appearing, we “are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief” (1 Thessalonians 5:4). We are to remain sober, diligent and expectant because “the Lord, whom you seek, will come suddenly” (Malachi 3:1). On that great and glorious day, “His righteousness will be revealed in the sight of the nations; all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.” And thus, all the promises God has made to His people will be fulfilled — everyone will bear witness to God’s faithfulness and mercy. Therefore it is written, and “every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him” (Revelation 1:7). Amen.
Blessings and Shalom,
Bill
