Good Morning.

And you shall raise up the tabernacle according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain. (Exodus 26:30)

As one reads all of the particulars regarding the construction of the sanctuary — the description of what was used and how it was to be assembled — makes it clear that the  Tabernacle was to be constructed so as not to be shaken by the wind. The design was such that it would continue to be stable in any circumstance. We would expect nothing less from the Creator of the Universe but, still, it is important to see that He expected them to follow the pattern for reasons other than the spiritual lessons contained within the Tabernacle — there was a physical benefit as well.

Consider that He could have sustained it supernaturally and upheld it by miraculous means regardless of how faulty it may have been structurally speaking. Instead, God instructed them to use strong and sturdy materials coupled with the wisdom to build it properly. It was the same situation with Noah and the construction of the ark; He gave  him the specifications for the ark and instructions in how to build it. It was in Noah’s best interests to do it just as He said — the life of his family and the future of mankind lay in the balance.

Likewise, God gives us instructions on how to live, what to do and how to do it — and it is in our best interests to do exactly as He says. When it comes to navigating through life, we are bound to encounter storms and the upheaval that comes with the trials of life. But when we live in the way that He prescribes for us, we are in much better position to endure those storms when they come. It is very important, then, that we do what is within our power and means — as God gives us guidance — to build our lives in accordance with His will. If and when we do our part, then the Almighty will do what only He can do.

Blessings and Shalom,
