Good Morning.

And the tabernacle of meeting shall move out with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps. (Numbers 2:17)

Just as the Sanctuary was situated in the midst of the camps of Israel when they were stationary, so it was as they moved through the wilderness. Exactly where in the column it was situated is not certain but it is a fact that the Sanctuary remained central to the congregation even when traveling. That is to say, it was still regarded as the Tent of Meeting even when disassembled which serves to teach that God’s House — comprised of His people — is to be regarded as set apart in any and all circumstances.

God doesn’t alter His holiness and, as His people, we should not either. Even if “His house” is scattered about, as it most certainly is at this time, we are to remain holy. Moreover, being scattered throughout the world actually serves the purpose of building and expanding His house. Before Messiah ascended to the Father, He told His followers to go into all the world and make disciples. Starting at Jerusalem and then to Judea, Samaria and the rest of the world, they were go and be witnesses of His resurrection and, consequently, work on building His house.

Currently, God’s people are scattered throughout the world, still charged with fulfilling that Great Commission. Even though there is no central house of worship in Jerusalem at this time, “God’s House” is still called to be holy as we make our way through the wilderness of the world. One day, however, He will gather all of His people into the Holy Land where we will all worship the King in Jerusalem. Until that day, let us walk upright before Him, faithfully representing His House to those who are outside in the belief that many will come into His House and join the family.

Blessings and Shalom,
