Good Morning.

So Moses raised up the tabernacle, fastened its sockets, set up its boards, put in its bars, and raised up its pillars. And he spread out the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. (Exodus 40:18-19)

When you think about it, the fact that the children of Israel were able to fashion the Tabernacle and all of its intricate components is nothing short of a miracle. It attests to God’s wisdom and design as well as the dedication of the people who served in the different positions necessary to make it a reality. And so again, it is fascinating to consider that the tabernacle, and all that it represents, was built in the wilderness and not in Jerusalem or the land of Israel.

On that note, consider that Israel always seemed to multiply and grow, not in the land of Canaan, but in the different nations they were sent to. Jacob went to Syria as one person and came back with wives. children and a great deal of livestock. Israel went into Egypt as seventy souls but emerged from Egypt as a great nation numbering into the millions.

The point is, historically, God’s people have grown and developed while scattered among the nations as opposed to living in the Holy Land. It only makes sense, then, that God’s people have continued to grow in numbers and in might and will continue to do so until the Messiah returns and gathers His people to Himself.

In other words, prophetically speaking, the restoration of all things is occurring now, while we are in the metaphorical wilderness, and will culminate when King Messiah comes to rule and reign the nations from Jerusalem. And as it was with the Tabernacle, in that day, the Glory of the LORD will reside among His people and will rest upon them. In that day, all nations will go up to Jerusalem to worship the King. In the meantime, we have a commission: we are to make disciples so that the Kingdom will continue to grow in numbers and in might as we look forward to the day when we shall be one people with one King and His name shall be One!

Blessings and Shalom,
