Good Morning.

All who are gifted artisans among you shall come and make all that the Lord has commanded: the tabernacle, its tent, its covering, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets… (Exodus 35:10-11)

In these and several other verses, God instructs the people to build the Sanctuary which was a project the entire nation was to be involved with. It wasn’t just a building a project as they were accustomed to in Egypt but it was to provide a resting place for the Presence of the Almighty. In fact, being a nation wherein He could dwell and advance His Will was the primary reason for their existence. So again, participation was a national concern; not just that of the artisans and craftsmen. Everyone had to do their part.

While it is true that the Sanctuary could not have existed without the gifts and talents of the artisans, the artisans could not have worked if the contributions were not given by the people. In turn, those contributions could not have been given if they had not obeyed the command to plunder the Egyptians. This is an example how certain things must occur before other very important things can take shape. In short, everything — and everyone — has their purpose and their season.

God’s creation moves and functions in seasons and cycles and, likewise, His will and purpose for us follows this same pattern. So then, just as summer harvest is dependent on spring planting, the Father’s will in our lives for tomorrow is somewhat dependent on our choices of today. All of us would be quite content for miraculous things to just drop into our laps, and while that is possible, it isn’t likely. Our obedience and actions, today, have a significant role to play in what occurs tomorrow. The Sanctuary could have miraculously appeared in the wilderness if God had so chosen — but He didn’t. Instead, He provided the pattern, the materials and the expertise and then said, “Get to work.” When they had done their part, then the miracle occurred — God’s Presence dwelt among them.

It is important to see that, today, we are also working on building His Sanctuary. The present effort isn’t focused on a tent in the wilderness, but the one Peter described as being made of “living stones.” Still, all of us must do our part today if the Father’s purpose is to be realized tomorrow. This is not only a scenario for the Body at large but for each and everyone of us as individuals. So then, be keen to hear what the Spirit is saying to you that must be done today, knowing that it will play an important role in what He is going to do tomorrow.

Blessings and Shalom,
