Good Morning.

You will bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O Lord, which You have made for Your own dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established. The Lord shall reign forever and ever. (Exodus 15:17-18)

From the beginning, God’s people have looked toward the time when we would dwell with Him in the Kingdom. When all other kingdoms have come and gone and all kings  and emperors have been dethroned, our King will rule and reign over all and for all time. It is understood, therefore, that redemption is always followed by the revelation of God’s greatness and Kingship.

For Israel, this would occur initially at Mount Sinai when God came down upon the mountain in a dramatic display of thick clouds, lightning, thunder and voices. It was here that Judaism believes the Kingdom of Heaven was inaugurated on earth. Israel was to be a “kingdom of priests” in a Kingdom that will never end. In other words, they were not delivered from bondage to go their own way; they were liberated so that they might proclaim the message of the Kingdom of God to all nations.

As followers of Messiah, we are to do the same. We have been delivered from the bondage of sin, not just to escape damnation; not just to live an abundant life, but to proclaim that Kingdom of Heaven is here. It is our duty to demonstrate to the world that there is One King “and of his kingdom there will be no end” (Luke 1:33). “We are, as Peter said, “a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9). We have been redeemed and are, consequently, those He had appointed to declare that, ““The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:15)

Blessings and Shalom,
