Good Morning.
Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” So he said, “Here, in the tent.” And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” (Genesis 18:9-10)
After receiving his angelic visitors, Abraham had a meal prepared for them of which they partook. It is after this meal that they inquired as to the whereabouts of Sarah. Perhaps that question was to call her attention to what was about to be said:“I will certainly return to you this time next year and Sarah shall have a son.” Sarah, who was listening just inside the door of the tent, laughed – ותצחק vay’titzchak.
Though she denied laughing at the prospects of giving brith to a son, she was reluctant to believe that a woman her age could conceive. To this the LORD asks, “Is anything too hard for the LORD?” Obviously, the answer to that question is, “No.” Many years later, another angelic announcement — the revelation that Elizabeth had conceived in her old age — was coupled with the statement that, “with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37). If we believe, all things are possible. Yeshua said:
“Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
So many of us are facing obstacles that stand in the way of our promises being fulfilled to the point that it seems unlikely that they will come to pass. But we must persist in our belief that God will make a way. Nothing is impossible for Him, and if we believe that He is faithful, the impossible will become a reality.
Blessings and Shalom,
Bill
