Good Morning.

“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” (Genesis 1:31)

On most other days in the Creation account we read that God saw “that it was good” but on the sixth day, “it was very good.” It is important to understand what the Hebrew term for “good” really means. The word טוב tov indicates that something is where it is supposed to be and doing what it was designed to do — it is functioning in its purpose. For instance, when the light was separated from the darkness, each of those components could properly do what they were designed to do. Yet all of the days leading up to the creation of mankind were merely needed steps in order that human beings could thrive upon the Earth. At that point, the Creator’s original intent could come to fruition.

For those of us who have been born again and have become a New Creation, we understand that we have not yet attained to ultimate goal for which we have been created. In other words, as John said:

“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:2)

All those victories we experience in this life are good but one day things will be “very good.” On the day when “mortal puts on immortality,” our Father’s original intent for us will come to fruition. Are you looking forward to that day? Even so, come Lord Yeshua.

Blessings and Shalom,

Bill
