Good Morning.

Genesis 1:1

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

When God created the heavens and the earth, we understand that He spoke everything into existence that would fulfill His purpose, even if it was not clearly manifested in the beginning. But in addition to the physical world, Isaiah tells us that He also created the course for human history in the very beginning.

“Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.’” (Isaiah 46:9-10)

In other words, rather than predicting the end from the beginning of time, God told us about the end by telling us the beginning. Consequently, everything we read in the book of Genesis is prophetic, establishing patterns for what has occurred in the past and what is occurring in our day.

Thus we can also conclude that in our new beginning as a follower of Messiah — when we received Him into our hearts — His purpose for us, complete with the good works we were to perform, were created as well. Thus we read:

“For we are His workmanship, created in Messiah Yeshua for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Today, and everyday this year, let us fulfill those good works that were fashioned in us when we became a new creation in Messiah. May His Will be performed!

Blessings and Shalom,

Bill
