We have officially arrived at a time in the country when, standing up for what you believe – specifically if it is biblical values – can cost you everything. Freedom of speech, in some states, only applies if your speech agrees with the prevailing cultural and political sentiment of the day. Case and point: an Oregon woman is threatened with the loss of her business, her home and her life savings because she refused to render services to a gay couple for their wedding. [Judge authorizes ruin for Oregon florist].

Let that sink in: the government can now compel you to do what they want you to do (and we’re not talking about paying taxes). They can threaten you with ruin if you decide to obey God rather than man when it comes to resisting an aggressive and hostile gay agenda. That’s bad enough but now some pastors and Christian leaders are saying that we are wrong for standing against gay marriage.

I have long believed that, before all is said and done, our greatest threat will NOT come from the world but from within. It seems the groundwork for that internal struggle is being laid right now. I won’t bore you with commentary – I’m sure you’re well aware of what is going on. I just wanted to bring to your attention the fact that, more and more, so-called ambassadors of the Messiah are calling for God’s Word to conform to the needs of culture rather than calling upon culture to conform to the authority of God’s Word.

Pastor calls for Church to Accept Gays

Pastor Believes Church Will Accept Gays

This is just the beginning for Paul forewarned:

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” – 2 Timothy 4:3-5

We’ve all knew this was coming and, in full force, it is now here. Let us then heed the admonition given to Timothy – “Be watchful and endure afflictions” for they will certainly come if we hold fast to the truth.

For now, that’s my two cents for what its worth.
