Ministry Update from BillÂ
Shalom everyone;
I hope that you and your family are doing well, today, and that this week has been blessed and fruitful. I wanted to share with you what is going on with Shoreshim and with our congregation, Jacob’s Tent.
Shoreshim Ministries
First of all, I want to let everyone know that, just because we have started the congregation doesn’t mean that Shoreshim Ministries will be going the way of the dinosaur. To the contrary, being closer to home will give me more opportunity to develop teachings for www.billcloud.com and expand our reach through other means we have been contemplating. The ministry of Jacob’s Tent is intended to be an extension of what we do but, also, distinct and serving a different purpose.
So, to be clear, Shoreshim Ministries will continue producing new teachings (in fact, we have about four new video teachings that are being edited for release in the next couple of months) and developing other formats in order to propagate what we have been called to do. Perhaps most understood that was the case, but because a few people have asked questions about it, I thought I had better address it. With that thought in mind, we want to thank all of you who have supported Shoreshim Ministries through the years, prayerfully and financially, and hope that you will continue supporting us.
Jacob’s Tent
We are excited to announce that we will be having our first service in our new location tomorrow at 151 Inman St. E. in Cleveland. Many people have been working day and night to get everything ready but now the time is here. Here’s a few things you need to know if you’re planning on being with us.
Our new start time is 11:00 AM: We’ve already heard from a few people that they are disappointed that we are going to an earlier time and we’ve heard from those who like it. It was always our intention to start earlier once we had secured a permanent meeting place. The reason we have started in the afternoon, previously, was to allow us time to set up what we needed to do in someone else’s building. Now that we are in a fixed setting, set up time is minimal and allows us to begin sooner. I realize that this later starting time also accommodated those who wanted to join us from out of town but, all things and everyone considered, this new time better serves our goals overall. We hope that this adjustment won’t be too painful for any of us. If at all possible, try to arrive a few minutes early so that, once the service starts, the door on the Inman Street side can remain closed. If you arrive late, we will try and have the back door open (Parker St side) so that you may enter without causing a distraction.
Parking: Because we are downtown, parking will be a bit different. We do have limited parking on the side of the building that faces Parker St. However, we would like to reserve these spaces for our seniors and those who need assistance. A larger public parking area is located across Parker Street behind the Catch Restaurant as well as street parking along 1st Street. If no spaces are available there, public parking is available across Inman St at the Five Points Museum. PLEASE DO NOT PARK in the small lot on Inman St. that is just to the left of the building. There are businesses located there, some of whom will be open tomorrow, and we have not obtained permission to park in that area. (See the image above).
Nursery: There will be a nursery area available to those with small children (ages 4 and under). There will NOT be any nursery workers and so a parent needs to be with their children at all times (please, no older siblings). If your child is sick, please don’t take them into the nursery area for the sake of other little ones. It is our intention to have a monitor in the nursery so that parents can still be a part of the service.
Oneg: Since we are starting earlier and because the front door opens directly into our meeting room, please plan to arrive before the service starts so that you can bring your items for oneg into the kitchen. If you arrive late, please be aware that, once you enter the front door, you will be in the Sanctuary. If we can work it out, we will try to have someone stationed at the back door so that late arrivals may enter that way. If not and you arrive after 11 AM, please make your way to the kitchen via the back aisle and not in front of the stage area (the LiveStream will have already started).
See You Tomorrow!
Finally, come with expectation for good things and with patience for those things that might not go just right on this first service. There are a lot of details that have gone into this move and there are many details that will have to be addressed in the coming days and weeks. Thanks to all of those who have made Jacob’s Tent a reality. We hope to see you tomorrow, in person or online.
Blessings and Shalom,Â

When giving to Jacob’s Tent is this tax deductible or not
Larry; It is our understanding that, because we are considered a “church,” that it is tax deductible, however, we have not yet been granted 501(c)3 status. We are pursuing this. If you wish to contribute to Jacob’s Tent by check, make the check payable to Jacob’s Tent or if giving online, make a note that the gift is intended for Jacob’s Tent.
